CIG visit to the University of Birmingham Library, Edgbaston

Mon, 24th Jul 2017 - 12:00pm to 2:30pm

Come and see our shiny new library!  Newly opened in September 2016, this is your opportunity to see inside our fresh new building, and meet the Metadata team who work there.

The library's comprehensive academic collection is particularly strong on music and art resources. It has been divided into a high use open collection, and a closed collection, both of which are kept in the same building. The tour of the library takes us past our automatic returns machine, laptop loan system and strangely shaped sofas.

The Metadata team catalogues print and electronic resources for the library collections. This also includes music, rare books and audio-visual resources.

On the day
Please report to the front desk on arrival. Lockers are available for you to leave your bags. The library is fully accessible, with lifts to all floors.

The visit is free however please note that places are limited to 15 and registrations must be received by Wednesday 19th July 2017.

If you have any queries about this visit please contact your host, Christina Claridge, Metadata Team Leader.
