Sarah Pavey is a trainer, consultant and author specialising in school libraries. She has over 20 years’ experience in school libraries both in the independent and maintained sectors. She has also worked with special needs and international students. Sarah has focused on information skills, digital literacy, library technology, cataloguing and the importance of the school librarian being involved in teaching and learning.

Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in school libraries both in the independent and maintained sectors. She has also worked with special needs and international students. Sarah has focused on information skills, digital literacy, library technology, cataloguing and the importance of the school librarian being involved in teaching and learning.

Sarah holds Fellowship of CILIP. Her biochemistry degree led to an initial career within in the pharmaceutical industry as an information scientist and qualitative market researcher. Sarah is an active member of the Information Literacy Group and School Libraries Group within CILIP and recently has been involved with the Teen Tech Information Literacy Award.

She is a co-author of 'The Innovative School Librarian' (2nd Edition, Facet 2016) and has also published books through the School Library Association. Sarah speaks regularly at conferences, including at LILAC in 2016. 

As a CILIP Onsite trainer, branching out from school libraries, in 2016 Sarah conducted remote training for new public librarians in Pakistan for the British Council with CILIP via Skype.
