WIPO GREEN was established by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in 2013. It provides "an interactive marketplace that connects technology and service providers with those seeking innovative solutions." An online database and network, that brings together players in the green technology innovation value chain, can be used to search for information covering new green technologies. This initiative helps to increase innovation and the dissemination of information relating to green technologies, as well as contribute to the efforts of developing countries in addressing climate change.
WIPO GREEN is unique as it provides a one-stop shop for green technologies at all stages of development, from upstream research to marketable products (and everything in between). These technologies are available for license, collaboration, joint ventures and sale.
The database is free to register and all technologies uploaded to the WIPO GREEN database remain the property of the rights holder(s).
